Heavy metal band Kittie have signed a worldwide deal with E1 Music and will release three albums through the label.
The all-female outfit have opened for Slipknot and Pantera, released four albums – most recently 2007's Funeral For Yesterday – and have been trailblazers as women in metal since they formed in 1996. Their upcoming release, In The Black, drops on Sept. 15.
"We are totally thrilled and honoured to be working with [E1 Music VP Of Metal] Scott Givens and to now be part of the E1 family," says lead vocalist Morgan Lander. "We have been hard at work for the past few months perfecting our latest musical offering and are pleased with the final result of In The Black. It is everything that Kittie is supposed to be: heavy, fast, brash and nasty, yet at times introspective, feminine and emotional.
"One thing it is not, however, is compromising of the sound and style that we have come to be known for. This shit is HEAVY! Our new label pairing with E1 will actualize the vision that we have held constant over the years for the band."
Kittie have gone through a number of lineup changes over the years. The band — today comprised of lead vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander, drummer Mercedes Lander, guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Ivy Vujic — will film two music videos next month and plan to tour this fall.
wow, they are still around? how sad is that.
glad they still have the "heavy shit" sound.
i saw them limp through a set almost ten years ago and i wondered how many trees got cut down per show just to keep them in facepaint.
i just asked a friend about this band and the reply was "who?"
but thanks for keepin us upto date
