The C.N.E. isn't just for kids and livestock lovers.
Tokyo Police Club and Kardinal Offishall are two of the big names scheduled to perform at this year's Canadian National Exhibition, which will take place in Toronto Aug. 21 to Sept. 7.
TPC will play August 29 at the C.N.E. Bandshell following openers Winter Gloves, and Kardi will headline the Toronto Urban Music Festival on Sept. 2.
The Ex will also feature performances from a number of rock 'n' roll's elder class. Canned Heat, Mountain (with original members Leslie West and Corky Lang), blues guitarist Johnny Winter and harmonica player Paul Butterfield will play as part of the fair's Spirit Of Woodstock concert on Aug. 21.
Original Steppenwolf members Nick St. Nicolas and Michael Monarch, Randall Hall of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Barry Goudreau and Frank Cosmo of Boston, Alex Ligertwood of Santana and Fergie Frederiksen of Toto will appear together as the World Classic Rockers on Aug. 22.
All bandshell concerts are free with CNE admission. Ticket information and the full events program are available on the C.N.E. website.
