Plaskett Opening For McCartney

The Joel Plaskett Emergency have been picked by Paul McCartney to open his July 11 show at the Halifax Commons.

The Joel Plaskett Emergency will be accompanied by singers Rose Cousins and Anna Ege and Plaskett's father, Bill Plaskett, at the gig, according to CBC Radio 3.

Plaskett reportedly told CBC Radio 3 he's "pretty damn excited" about opening for Macca. Yeah, we bet!

Tickets are still on sale online and will cost you $136, while VIP seats will run you $316.

McCartney announced on June 16 that he wanted a Canadian support act for his gig at the Commons, which will be his only Canadian performance this year and will coincide with the Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival.

This led to Canadian acts scrambling to be picked. Brent Randall & His Pinecones even wrote Macca a song to show how much they wanted the gig, and you can watch the video for it below:
