Chester Bennington Is Dead... By Sunrise

Linkin Park fans and casual goths... meet Dead By Sunrise.

DBS is the side/solo project of LP lead vocalist Chester Bennington, who's been working with members of Julien-K (the electro side project of Orgy guitarist/synthesizer player Amir Derakh and guitarist Ryan Shuck) and producer Anthony "Fu" Valcic for the past four years in hopes of releasing an album.

Bennington originally planned to release the first DBS album in 2006. But since he was in, like, the third biggest band in the world, he wasn't able to do so and the singer set his sights on a 2008 release.

Finally, on May 23, Bennington told a fan on Twitter that the 10-track album, called Out Of Ashes, will drop "sometime around September."

Don't expect an exact continuation of Linkin Park's sound on this record, though. As Bennington told Chicago's Daily Herald newspaper last year, his music is "hard to describe. Like, describe the difference between Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, you know what I mean? It's almost impossible."

"There are obvious things about it that when you listen to it, you'll know it's not a Linkin Park record. You're not gonna get confused. You'll have to hear it."

Linkin Park recently recorded an original track called "New Divide," which was chosen as the theme song to Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. You can see the video for the track here.
