Add this to your list of tentative '90s band reunions:
Soundgarden could be getting back together.
Shinedown singer Brent Smith recently told
Kerrang! magazine the Seattle grunge rockers could reunite, 12 years after they officially parted ways in 1997.
"There's talk of a reuniting of Soundgarden in the States soon," Smith told
Kerrang! during England's Download Festival earlier this month. "I know actually someone specific who told me that, who is actually specifically in their organization. Kinda told me that they're talking about it."
All Soundgarden's former members — except former frontman Chris Cornell — briefly joined forces with Tad Doyle and Tom Morello
in March during former Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello's Justice Tour, but no official reunion was announced. But now, Smith has provided some hope for those eager to hear more from the four-piece.
