Crystal Castles Punch Security

Crystal Castles are in trouble again.

British music magazine NME reports singer Alice Glass started trashing the stage and throwing a drum kit around when there were sound problems during the Toronto duo's set at Barcelona, Spain's Sonar Festival on Sunday. Glass apparently attempted to throw the drum kit at the security guards.

Little Boots wrote on her Twitter that the sound person then tried to "rugby tackler" Glass before DJ Ethan Glass punched him, but then she later said Glass had "socked him" instead.

It's not known if any charges were laid because of the incident.

This isn't the first time Glass has trashed the stage and thrown drums around. At the end of Crystal Castles' packed set at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre last year, Glass kicked and threw around the drum set the duo had been using. There had been sound issues earlier in the set as well, though the two events weren't linked.

Crystal Castles were at the centre of controversy back in April when they cancelled a sold-out show at Dallas, Texas' Granada Theater just before they were to take the stage. They said the venue could not "deliver the audio production required for a CC show" and accused opening act Vega of stealing an effects pedal from them. Vega said the duo had borrowed a guitar the night before and they accidentally ended up with the pedal.

The event resulted in an online skuffle between the promoters and Crystal Castles.
