MONTREAL — Last year's inaugural M For Montreal mini-M summer shows brought the city's many promising anglophone and francophone bands together for sweaty fun. Think About Life, Bonjour Brumaire and Orange Orange will keep the party going for another year at Les Foufounes Electriques.
The club will host showcases on the last Friday of each month from June until October, starting with Automelodi and Tony Ezzy on June 26, Barton Fink and Bonjour Brumaire on July 31, Elektrik Bones and Orange Orange on Aug. 28, Le Kid & Les Marinellis and Demon's Claws on Sept. 25 and Call Me Poupee and Ariel on Oct. 28.
Despite the undeniable party-like atmosphere of these upcoming showcases, these shows will be followed by after-parties at the same venue. Think About Life will perform on June 26 and Creature will play the finale.
M For Montreal started in 2006 and is a yearly showcase where European and American festival bookers are invited to Montreal to catch the city's hottest local acts. Toronto bands were invited to perform as well last year.
Tickets for each show cost five dollars. More information is available on the festival's website.
