PTH Guitarist Shaves Beard For Cancer

Protest The Hero's Tim Millar

Protest The Hero's Tim Millar is taking it off for cancer — his beard, that is.

The guitarist has been growing his wiry, reddish-blonde crumb catcher for three years, and competed in last month's World Beard And Moustache Championships in Alaska with his bandmates. But in a MySpace blog entry written on Friday, Millar announced he and his furry friend will soon be partying ways.

Millar hopes to raise at least $500 which he will donate to Locks Of Love before he says goodbye to the face 'fro. The charity takes donations of human hair to make wigs for cancer patients, but Millar has opted to donate money instead, since Locks Of Love doesn't accept beard hair.

He's $100 away from his goal and asks interested parties to head to the Beard Team Canada website to contribute. As an added incentive, the highest bidder will receive Millar's actual beard, which may be made into — wait for it — a beard wig!

You can gaze upon Millar's freshly shaven face when Protest The Hero play the Cutting Edge Music Festival at Kitchener, Ont.'s Bingeman's Fun Park on August 1.
