Rock Plaza Central Cover Van Halen

Rock Plaza Central have covered Van Halen's "Panama."

The Toronto folk rock band recorded the track partly because frontman Chris Eaton knew someone who spent time in Panama and partly because of a covers night.

"I had an idea to host a night about four years ago where I'd book bands and give them a list of songs they'd have to cover," Eaton says. "It was pretty brilliant. And then I had to stop because my partner got a job in Panama for four months. I couldn't get the song out of my head, so one day I just clicked record on the tape recorder and this came out."

Rock Plaza Central's sophomore album, ...At The Moment Of Our Most Needing, Or If Only They Could Turn Around, They Would Know They Weren't Alone, hits stores today (Tuesday).
