NIN Played Last North American Gig At Bonnaroo?

Nine Inch Nails
Trent Reznor says Nine Inch Nails' appearance at this past weekend's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn. was the band's final North American performance.

Nine Inch Nails head to Europe to play select festival dates throughout June and July before they travel to Asia in August.

"It just dawned on me that this is our last show ever in the United States," Reznor said on stage during Nine Inch Nails' performance on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. "Don't be sad. I'll keep going. But I think I'm going to lose my... mind if I keep doing this, and I have to stop."

Reznor announced last month that he was putting the live version of Nine Inch Nails to rest so the act could remain relevant and he could keep it something he felt "pure about."

"For my own mental health, I need to put more effort into being stationary and really trying to make Nine Inch Nails a precious thing," he said in a fan interview.

"I'm not trying to become a parody of myself, and I need to think about things and I need to really kind of keep it cool.

"I watch my peers spin off into doing stupid shit to try to desperately stay relevant and cash in. You know, regardless of what you think of Nine Inch Nails, I know that I've always tried to do the best I could with it and I think I've always made the right choice and I knew when to say no."

Reznor said at the time Nine Inch Nails was "not done," which presumably means he will continue to record music under the moniker.
