Wooly Weekend Bringing Sixties Back In Montreal

The Gruesomes

Ever wanted to experience — or re-experience — '60s teen culture? You may be in luck.

The Wooly Weekend aims to take you back to a time of incense, peppermint, skinny suits and go-go boots.

The festival will take place from Aug 6 to 8 at Montreal's historic Theatre Plaza and will feature rock 'n' roll, garage rock and power pop from authentic local and international 1960s bands, including Montreal's The Gruesomes, what's left of Love, Sky Saxon and The Electric Prunes, amongst others.

The three-day festival will also feature a number of time-period documentaries, panel discussions, interviews and "a day-long trade fair where vendors will offer tables topped with records, magazines, books, vintage clothing and articles of the past."

Weekend passes are $90 and day passes are available for $35. Visit the Teen Beat Takeover website for passes and complete festival details.
