Matt Good Cuts Lawn

Matthew Good has purchased a lawn trimmer and assembled it in order to landscape his yard.

The Canadian songwriter was so eager to try out the Weed Wacker that he took it from the privacy of his backyard to the front, where he proceeded to chop down unwanted plants while still in his pajamas.

Good has discovered a newfound interest in landscaping machinery since moving into his own house — the first time he's lived in one since the late 1980s — and wrote in a blog post on Tuesday that he's "never had the delightful opportunity to immerse myself in the wonderful world of landscaping and garden tools."

He may be a late bloomer as far as lawn care goes, but Good is confident he possesses the "intrinsic male fascination with all things mechanical, especially garden equipment."

"Last night — and I'm not kidding — I actually dreamed of yard blowers, rider mowers, chainsaws, power washers, and a whole host of other fun gadgets that, according to my subconscious, I desperately want to get my filthy paws on," wrote Good.

"There was a time that I was like that with guitars," he reminisced. "But having found and purchased most of the guitars that I've been after for the last decade and a half, a void has obviously been left.

"Thus, I have come to the conclusion that I will fill that void with high tech garden machinery so that I can stand around with my neighbour and talk about how awesome we are."

In other news, Matt Good is still unimpressed with the Junos, got a cat, and is working on his next album, titled Vancouver.

You can catch the perpetually awesome Good in his front yard Saturday mornings, comparing Weed Wackers with the Joneses.
