Depeche Mode's
Dave Gahan has recovered from the
surgery he had last month to remove a tumor from his bladder, and the British synth-pop band have continued touring where they left off.
Gahan was
hospitalized May 12 following a gastroenteritis attack he suffered while the band was on tour. Tests he underwent while in hospital found the vocalist had a malignant tumour in his bladder, and he had surgery to have it removed. Depeche Mode were forced to
cancel or postpone over a dozen European shows.
Depeche Mode resumed their performances June 8 in Leipzig, Germany now that Gahan has recovered.
"I'm grateful to the fans for showing their support and thankful to my family, friends and all of the doctors who looked after me so well," said Gahan in a statement issued June 9. "Being back onstage is an incredible feeling and I'm looking forward to each and every show."
