Canadian metallers Anvil will open two of AC/DC's U.S. shows in July.
Singer/guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow, bassist/singer Glenn "G5" Five and drummer Robb "Geza" Reiner will do the opening honours at AC/DC's July 28 show in Boston and in East Rutherford, N.J. on July 31.
Anvil are obviously a major influence on many other metal bands, and are currently riding high on the success of the Anvil: The Story Of Anvil documentary, which has now grossed over $550,000 U.S. south of the 49th parallel alone.
It has also brought them to the attention of many other celebrities. Coldplay's Chris Martin recently gave an interview on the band's website about how much Anvil: The Story Of Anvil had moved him.
"There's a scene in it between the drummer and the singer which makes you cry, especially if you're in a band and you know what it feels like to love another man so much, but also fight so much," he wrote.
