Julie Doiron Day Announced In Saskatchewan

June 7 is not just former Montreal Canadiens' left-winger Stephane Richer and actor Michael Cera's birthday anymore. It's now Julie Doiron Day in Bruno, Sask.

The town of 600 was host to a sold-out show by Doiron on Sunday at All Citizens, the Bruno artists' centre run by visual artist Serena McCarroll and artist/musician Tyler Brett. The mayor's accordionist husband Gilbert opened for Doiron.

A bench was also named in the Sackville, N.B. singer's honour, and presented to her by Brett and the mayor of Bruno. Here's a video of its unveiling:
