Tegan And Sara have been using their recently redesigned
website to write daily updates about the recording process for their still untitled sixth album.
The Quin twins are recording the disc in Seattle with producer and Death Cab FOr Cutie guitarist Chris Walla, who helmed the boards for 2007's
The Con. They started
recording it last month, but took a small break and switched studios to record overdubs.
"Even though we've [recorded albums] 5 times previous, I care so much about how this one turns out that I think my brain is turning to mush earlier in the day," Tegan
wrote on Thursday.
So far, the studio sessions have seen both Tegan and Sara spend at least one full day tracking their own vocals. While Tegan was recording her vocals, Sara spent time on the studio couch reading a dirty book. We aren't sure whether it turned her brains to mush. Probably not. Tegan also came to the studio dressed as Batman on Sunday.
You can also watch videos of "Bategan" eating a lot of donuts and both twins listening to a new song (that they can't play for fans) with Walla on their website. The videos aren't working for us right now because the series of tubes that is the intarnets hates us, so we can't embed them.
Tegan And Sara will play the Hollywood Bowl with Death Cab For Cutie and The New Pornographers on July 5.
