Sled Island Magic Tournament Is Go

If you're a Magic: The Gathering-playing music nerd, you could win a festival pass to the Sled Island Music Festival.

Sled Island festival organizers are hosting a Magic: The Gathering tournament at Calgary's Broken City Social Club on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and three Sled Island passes will be up for grabs. Full details about the tournament haven't been released yet.

"We’re fairly new to this whole thing, though I used to play back when The Black Lotus could actually be seen in more than protective glass cases," organizer Shawn Petsche wrote on the Sled Island Music Festival's blog. "It'll be fun, and who knows, might set the stage for a weekly Magic: The Gathering bar night full of drinks and shooting the shit about how creature names would make good band names..."

The Breeders, Holy Fuck, Final Fantasy, Biz Markie and Malajube are among more than 250 acts that will play this year's Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary from June 24 to 27.
