Lil Wayne Wants To Be Prince

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne just finished shooting basketball drama Hurricane Season — to hit theatres later this year — but Weezy already has his eye set on another role. The "Lollipop" rapper had no problem answering when he was asked about his dream role.

"Prince in Purple Rain," he told MTV. "Watch out now."

We will watch out, Lil Wayne... we'll be watching for an over-muscled dude with bad tattoos and braids wearing a purple camel-toed unitard, lace gloves and the moustache of a child molester... but we're not holding our breath.

Something tells me the Louisiana rapper's face tattoos might pose a bit of an issue as far as resemblance to The Kid. Then again, it might help Weezy get into Prince's character if he wore some makeup to cover those bad boys up.

Prince isn't the only artist who has had an impact on the man born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. After he shot Hurricane Season with Forest Whitaker (The Last King Of Scotland), Tha Carter gave his opinion on the intense character actor.

"He's a very serious guy," said Wayne. "I just spoke to him before he went out [onto the MTV Movie Awards stage], and he was like, 'You did good in the movie.'"

Whitaker's not so serious, though — he took the stage to perform the classic Saturday Night Live skit "Dick In A Box" at the Movie Awards. "Then he goes out there and sings that," said Lil Wayne. "I'm like, 'Wow.'"

Lil Wayne's rock album, The Rebirth, has been pushed back to Aug. 18.
