Auf Der Maur Album/Film Coming

Songs from solo artist/photographer Melissa Auf Der Maur's latest album will make their live Canadian debut at this year's North By Northeast Festival.
The ex-Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bass player has been working on Out Of Our Minds, a multimedia concept album, for three years. It consists of a record, film, comic and website. The album is set to drop this fall, but MADM will perform some of the songs and screen the entire film portion of the project at NXNE.
The Out Of Our Minds film will be shown June 19 at Toronto's NFB Theatre at 150 John Street, with the lady herself in attendance.
The 28-minute fantasy film was made in collaboration with Tony Stone (Severed Ways) and premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The NXNE screening will be a double feature — Sigur Ros' film, Vid Spilum Endalaust, will also be shown.
Auf Der Maur's photography has been featured in various exhibitions and publications worldwide. The Montreal native began work on Out Of Our Minds when she finished touring and promotion for her 2004 release, Auf Der Maur.
Auf Der Maur will perform songs from Out Of Our Minds at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 18 at 8 p.m., and at the El Mocambo June 19 at midnight. She'll share that stage with the Black Lips.
