Eminem-Bruno Stunt Was Staged

As many people probably suspected, Bruno didn't sit on Eminem's face by accident at the MTV Movie Awards — Slim Shady has revealed the entire thing was planned.

Rumours the whole thing was staged were swirling from the beginning, but MTV Movie Awards writer Scott Aukerman later confirmed it was fake in a post on his blog which has since been removed.

"Sacha [Baron Cohen, Bruno's creator] called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards," Eminem told RapRadar.com. "I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag.

"I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going 'nuts,' so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.

"After the ceremony, I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours. Especially after I saw it on-air."

The gag happened when Bruno was suspended in the air and got caught in his suspension wires. He asked to be lowered to the ground, and ended up landing on Slim Shady with his legs on either side of the rapper's head in a rather uncomfortable 69 position.

Eminem feigned disgust, asked his bodyguards to get Bruno off him and stormed out of the auditorium.

Eminem says rumours his hotel room was trashed during the Awards and the rapper was robbed of a $60,000 U.S. necklace and laptop aren't true.

"The only thing that I lost was a Nike watch that we were looking for," he told RapRadar. "The rest is made up, like half the other stuff out there."
