Converse will introduce collaborations with rock gods
AC/DC and
Metallica as part of their fall 2009 collection. The eternally hip Chuck Taylor All Stars will serve as the backdrop for these wearable tributes to the bands.
The AC/DC series will be released this month and three different models will be available. They include an all-black version (think
Back In Black), a leather version with the line "Lock Up Your Daughters" printed on the outsoles and a
Highway To Hell version featuring the album logo on the side.
The Metallica Chucks will be released in July and honour the band's 1984
Ride The Lightning with album art and patch graphics.
The AC/DC and Metallica shoes are available in various colours and will run (no pun intended) for about $50-80 (about $55 to $88 U.S.) and $50 U.S., respectively. Check 'em out
here.
Past Converse collaborations include
collections inspired by Iron Maiden, The Grateful Dead and most recently, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd and The Who.
