Sloan Twitters New Song

Sloan

Sloan have been fairly active when it comes to their Twitter, but were demanding they get 1,000 followers.

"No SlnVdOFThDY (Sloan Video Of The Day), or SlnSngOfThDy (Sloan Song Of The Day) until we hit 1000 followers," the band wrote on Friday. "Don't want to do this, but you people have to learn somehow."

Minutes later, they posted a message saying a song will be released when they hit the magic number.

"It's tough love. I did say I didn't want to do it," the band (presumably The Murph) wrote. "How about this...I'll post a never-heard tune when we reach 1000."

As promised, the band released the song late last night (June 1). It's called "Hide It," which comes from the Pretty Together sessions and is "Pentland Productionized."

Sloan are also eager to play on children's show Yo Gabba Gabba!, which has featured guests like Chromeo, Of Montreal and Joy Zipper.

"How can we make this happen? We can all RT [re-Tweet, or re-posting someone else's "Tweet" and crediting the original poster] like crazy!! Every time you check your Twitter, RT."

The band, who released Parallel Play last year, have a handful of dates this summer. They'll play alongside Chickenfoot, Our Lady Peace and Finger Eleven as past of the Canadian Forces Halifax Rock Fest on Citadel Hill Aug. 2.
