Dave Gahan Gets Tumor Removed

Depeche Mode have been forced to postpone their Tour Of The Universe until June 8 because singer Dave Gahan had surgery to remove a tumor in his bladder.

Gahan fell ill with a bout of "severe gastroenteritis" (better known as the "stomach flu," though it's unrelated to influenza), which forced Depeche Mode to cancel several European dates earlier this month.

While Gahan was in hospital, medical tests revealed what's been described as a "low-grade malignant tumor" in his bladder, which was successfully removed.

Gahan has been ordered to rest until June 8, which means all Depeche Mode shows until then have been cancelled or postponed. Information about the cancelled dates and gigs that have been rescheduled can be found on the band's website.
