Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and two of Mark Lanegan's band members, drummer Norm Block and bassist Eddie Nappi, have formed a rock band called Sweethead with singer Serrina Sims.
The group, who are named after a David Bowie B-side, will release a Van Leeuwen-produced, five-song EP titled The Great Disruptors on July 13. A full album is expected in the fall.
Sign up for the Sweethead mailing list on the band's website for a free download of their cover of The Kinks' "Tired Of Waiting For You." You can hear three other tracks on Sweethead's MySpace page.
The Los Angeles quartet covered "Life In Laralay" for New Tales To Tell: A Tribute To Love And Rockets, which is slated for a July release and will have a July 1 launch party at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, Calif.
