Weezer are going to release their very own Snuggie blanket, which they're calling a "Wuggie," and have been working on a new album.

"A Wuggie is basically exactly like a Snuggie, except it says Weezer on it," frontman Rivers Cuomo told Rollingstone.com about the proposed sleeved blanket.

"The people at Snuggie are doing it with us and promoting it with us. It's a totally legit Snuggie."

Weezer worked on their seventh album and follow-up to last year's self-titled (or "Red Album") LP in the California cities of Malibu, Santa Monica and Los Angeles between November and January with producer Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, Snow Patrol). They recorded "a nice pile of songs," which Rich Costey (Fiona Apple, Rage Against The Machine) mixed in March, according to the band's official blog.

No release date has been set for the still untitled album, and the blog states Weezer could record more songs soon. The first single will probably come out in the summer.

Weezer will open for Blink-182 on some of their reunion tour dates this summer. You can see both bands here:
