Korn, Slipknot, Sevendust Record For Cheng

Korn bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu and drumming bandmate Ray Luzier, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root, former Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch and Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery have recorded an instrumental song to benefit Deftones bassist Chi Cheng.

Cheng, 38, suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Santa Clara, Calif. last November and was in a coma.

The poet and Deftones founding member is semi-conscious. He's been floating "in and out of the coma" and has been talking a bit, according to updates on the One Love For Chi Foundation website, which was set up to accept donations to help cover his medical costs.

Cheng's insurance company reportedly stopped paying for his treatment in January. The bank has apparently since claimed his house and his dog was given away.
