Amy Winehouse Hospitalized, Documentary Coming

Amy Winehouse was rushed to hospital by ambulance in St. Lucia after a reported drinking spree at her villa on Friday night.

"She was complaining of chest pains so the doctor advised her to come in and she was kept in the observation and then released," an unnamed Winehouse spokesman told the U.K.'s Daily Mirror tabloid.

It's the third time Winehouse has been admitted to hospital in three months. An earlier visit was blamed on "dehydration."

Winehouse has spent much of this year in St. Lucia writing material for her third album, but she's scheduled to return to London, England to take part at a May 31 concert to celebrate Island Records' 50th anniversary. She recently played a show in St. Lucia that was cut short by rain, but reports claimed she fell and was slurring her words and forgetting lyrics.

An unnamed spokesperson told the U.K.'s Daily Express tabloid that Winehouse would like to perform at some British music festivals this summer, particularly the V Festival.

A documentary titled Saving Amy has been shot over the past six months. It apparently shows that, while Winehouse may have overcome her drug problem, she's still struggling with anorexia, alcohol addiction and an uneasy relationship with her parents.

Interviewer Daphne Barak spent time with Winehouse and her parents, and a new blog entry on the singer/songwriter's MySpace page promises "a truthful and revealing look at her complicated life."
