DMX Out Of Jail

DMX was released from prison this morning (Thursday) after serving more than 90 days for drug possession, animal cruelty and identity theft, so he can now dedicate himself to becoming a preacher.

"He was released on bail and went home this morning, and he was having breakfast with his family when I talked to him," DMX's new publicist, Pam Pinnock, told MTV News.

DMX's time at Arizona's notorious "Tent City" prison was extended after he faced new charges for allegedly throwing a food tray at a guard in February. He's due in court on Tuesday in connection with a new aggravated assault charge stemming from that incident.

Pinnock told MTV News that DMX plans to finish his You'll Fly With Me Later album and is "very optimistic about the future."

DMX failed to appear at a court hearing to face the charges against him last year and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office offered a $5,000 reward for his capture. He was eventually arrested at producer Scott Storch's Florida mansion and extradited to Arizona, where he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

DMX told Fox 10, an Arizona affiliate of Fox News, in January that he wanted to become a preacher when he left jail and would never return to Arizona because he said he "met the devil in God's country."

DMX was recently rumoured to be appearing on VH1's Celebrity Rehab television show, but his representative denied it.
