Ministry founder Al Jourgensen is a huge supporter of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and wrote a new theme song for the team last year titled "Keys To The City," which you can hear here.
"Keys To The City" name-checks Blackhawks alumni Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and Tony Esposito and is now a companion to the team's official theme, "Here Come The Hawks."
In light of the Blackhawks advancing to the Western Conference championship with their Monday win over the Vancouver Canucks, the singer will take calls today during Uncle Al's Puck Talk, the WXRX radio show he hosts every Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET. The program is also streamed on the Rockford, Ill. station's website.
"To celebrate the Blackhawks' recent playoff victory against the Vancouver Canucks, and for the first time since the show's inception, Al will be taking listener calls on tomorrow’s show — only those calls about hockey, nothing music related," states a press release issued on Tuesday.
Fans can "talk hockey with Uncle Al" by calling (815) 874-2104.
Jourgensen grew up in Chicago and was a Blackhawks season ticket holder before he moved to El Paso, Texas. But he still makes it to as many games as he can and often wears a Blackhawks jersey while on tour.
May 26 will see the release of Ministry's two-DVD Adios...Puta Madres, which documents the band's 2008 C U La Tour final tour.
