Coolio says the crack cocaine and pipe that airport security allegedly found in his bag while he was being screened before a flight at Los Angeles International Airport in March weren't his.
Coolio told TMZ he didn't know the drugs were in his bag and he had "no control" of the situation and "just happened to get caught up in the scene."
"They could have did DNA, they could have did all kinds of stuff to find out if it was mine, but they didn't," he says in this video. "They just got the bag and assumed it was mine...
"If you do bring drugs to the airport, you don't put 'em in your bag, you put 'em in your pocket. I used to smoke marijuana and I travelled with it for years, and I never put it in my bag. I always had it in my pocket. I'm not dumb like that, but you know... That was some bullshit.
"The unfortunate thing about it is this, is that when my name is cleared, more people are not gonna hear about it than heard about it. That's life in the city, that's the life of a celebrity.
"My friends and my family know it's not me. God knows it's not me. In essence, let me just put it to you like this: I don't give a fuck!"
Now every airport screener is going to check Coolio's pockets.
Coolio was arrested and charged with one count of felony drug possession, one count of felony battery and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly grabbed the arm of an airport screener to stop the person from searching his bag.
Coolio faces up to three years in prison if convicted. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
