Dead Weather To Tour North America

The Dead Weather, Jack White's new band with The Kills' Alison Mosshart and members of Queens Of The Stone Age and The Raconteurs, will tour North America this summer in support of the June 9 release of their Horehound debut album.
The jaunt includes shows in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Tickets to the Toronto and Vancouver shows go on sale on Friday through Live Nation and Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. EDT and PDT.
Fans will be able to get tickets to the shows (with the exception of festival dates) before they go on sale through pre-sales that begin either tomorrow (May 13) or May 20 on The Dead Weather website.
The dates should give White something to do while he prepares another White Stripes album.
White recently told Music Radar that rumours of he and recently engaged drummer Meg White breaking up the band were untrue and that an album could be out sometime next year. They'd already began recording it before they performed on the final Late Night With Conan O'Brien in February.
"We had recorded a couple of songs at the new studio [in Nashville]," White told the website. "I talked to her about coming by when I was done in the summer rehearsing with The Dead Weather — I won't be done in the summer touring with them, but after the summer jaunt."
White went on to say a new White Stripes album "won't be too far off. Maybe next year," and explained that Meg's anxiety problems and the band's relentless touring (remember that ridiculous Canadian tour?) resulted in burnout.
"We were playing two shows a day in Canada, then we'd fly to France and do a TV show there, then we were back in England on tour, and we were just killin' it, man. The train was out of control.
"I just came from a Raconteurs tour and went right into that, so I was already full-speed. Meg had come from a dead-halt for a year and went right back into that madness.
"Meg is a very shy girl, a very quiet and shy person. To go full-speed from a dead-halt is overwhelming, and we had to take a break."
