Sam Roberts Does Dylan

The Sam Roberts Band have recorded a version of Bob Dylan's "Dark Eyes" that you can hear on their MySpace page.

The group recorded the cover for director David Bezmozgis' first full-length feature film, Victoria Day, which was shot at Toronto's Earl Bales Park, Centennial Arena and Ontario Place.

Victoria Day was screened at this year's Sundance Film Festival, last month's Toronto Jewish Film Festival and will also appear at the Marche Du Film in Cannes, France.

Victoria Day follows Ben Spector (played by Mark Rendall) to a Dylan concert on the Victoria Day long weekend of 1988. He runs into another kid, who used to bully him, who's short five dollars to buy drugs. Spector lends him the money, but soon finds himself in trouble when the bully is a no-show at school and hockey practice the next day.

The Sam Roberts Band have also posted behind-the-scenes footage of the making of last year's Love At The End Of The World on their YouTube channel. You can see videos of the band recording six of the album's songs here.
