Interpol Frontman Is Julian Plenti

Interpol
Interpol's Paul Banks will go solo on Aug. 4 when he releases an album called Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper as his alter ego, Julian Plenti.

The Matador release was only recently recorded, but a source told Billboard.com that some of the songs were written more than a decade ago. It reportedly has a "cocky, sexy" feel and is similar to Interpol's music.

No track list is available for Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper yet, but you can hear a clip on the Julian Plenti website.

Banks performed as Plenti before Interpol formed in 1997. He's release three albums with that band, with the latest being 2007's Our Love To Admire. Interpol announced they were working on its follow-up in March.
