Mike Skinner's Swine Flu Song

The Streets' Mike Skinner

This month's Grist 13 And Shitty 7 pointed out if you can't poke fun at a possible pandemic, you don't know how to laugh at anything.

Mike Skinner of The Streets would probably agree. He's posted a video for a song he's written called "He's Behind You, He's Got Swine Flu," which mocks the swine flu (Mexican Flu for any Israelis reading this) panic.

"can i just state that nothing i do right now has anything to do with the label," Skinner Tweeted about the video yesterday (Tuesday). "they would not condone what i am doing."

The song features Mexican horns and the video uses footage from old zombie movies. The chorus amusingly contains the lyrics "decapitate your mate," which makes it even more hilarious.

This all kind of reminds us of that scene in Shaun Of The Dead where Shaun and Ed argue about which records to throw at the zombies to decapitate them. Would Skinner condone throwing Streets records at zombies with swine flu in order to remove their heads?

Here's the video (it's gory, so you might not want to watch it if you're a wimp):

We aren't sure if Skinner will play this song on tour this summer, but you can keep your fingers crossed at these shows:
