Rap star
50 Cent has apparently been cleared of any wrongdoing in the May 2008
fire that destroyed the Long Island, N.Y. mansion where his son Marquise lived with his mother, Shaniqua Tompkins.
"the police department and insurance investigators ruled that there is absolutely no proof or evidence suggesting that Curtis Jackson or any affiliated parties were involved," reported XXLmag.com, quoting a message posted on thisis50.com.
"Curtis Jackson has just been cleared of all the accusations. The investigation will continue until the guilty party is found."
The $2.4-million house was suspiciously set ablaze and mother and son were sent to hospital for treatment. Fiddy was trying to get his ex evicted from the building because he claimed she wasn't paying rent, and both accused the other of being involved with starting the fire. They later filed restraining orders against each other.
The hip-hop artist was given
monthly visitation rights for his son.
The much
delayed Before I Self Destruct is now scheduled to arrive at music retail outlets in June. A book titled
The 50th Law co-written by 50 Cent and Robert Greene is slated to be published on Sept. 9 after a two-year delay.
Fiddy was supposed to have
replaced Forest Whitaker in the Sylvester Stallone movie,
The Expendables, but was dropped after a week. The 33-year-old claimed it was his decision to not take the role, not the film's producers.
The Gordon Field House at the Rochester Institute Of Technology will host a 50 Cent performance on Saturday.
