The initial lineup was announced at a press conference earlier this afternoon and also includes: Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, Andrew W.K., Anvil, Battle Snakes, The Bronx, The Coathangers, The Cripple Creek Fairies, The Dead Science, The Dudes, The Evaporators, Flash Lightnin', Githead, HEALTH, Hollerado, Hot Little Rocket, Japandroids, Jonathan Toubin, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Ladyhawk, Liars, Library Voices, Malajube, Monotonix, Mount Eerie, Novillero, O'Death, Obits, The Pack A.D., Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Saddle Creek signees The Rural Alberta Advantage, Slim Twig, The Sublinguals, Tricky Woo, The United Steel Workers Of Montreal, The Whitsundays, Women and Woodhands.
This year, the main festival site moves from Mewata Field to Olympic Plaza in order to draw more people into the heart of the city.
Sled Island goes down June 24 to 27 at various venues around town. Over 200 acts will play over the four-day period. Last year's bands included Broken Social Scene, Tegan And Sara, Yo La Tengo and Wire, among others. Wire's Colin Newman is this year's curator.
Now would be a good time to find a cash machine. Four-day passes are $99, while VIP ducats go for $199. Tickets are available through the festival's website.
The full schedule will be announced on June 1.
