DMX To Pay $240,000 For Impersonating FBI Agent

DMX has been ordered to pay $240,000 U.S. (about $285,000 Canadian) in damages to a man he pulled over and is said to have assaulted when the rapper impersonated an FBI agent in 2004.
Sergei Priporin, 36, says DMX (real name Earl Simmons) used a police light and siren to pull him over in one of the parking lots at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on June 24, 2004, according to AllHipHop.com.
DMX allegedly claimed to be an FBI agent and tried to forcibly remove Priporin from the vehicle, which was also occupied by Priporin's mother and daughter at the time of the incident. DMX attempted to flee the scene and ended up crashing through an exit gate.
DMX was later arrested for cocaine possession and criminal impersonation, and was forced to surrender his Ford Expedition and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. He was also found to be in possession of Oxycodone, Diazepam and a billy club at the time of his arrest.
Priporin originally sought $4 million compensation from DMX, who he accused of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
DMX, who is currently serving a 90-day sentence for animal cruelty, drug possession and identity theft, was not in the New York courtroom on Tuesday. His lawyer, Richard Corde, told TMZ his client felt justified in dealing with Priporin the way he did because Priporin made him late for a flight.
"Mr. Simmons still feels justified in pulling them over when they didn't get out of his way... he's not apologizing for that," Corde said.
"He still believes the gentleman driving should have gotten out of his way. At the same time, he plead guilty to the charges and therefore paid for his behaviour."
DMX was accused of throwing a food tray at a prison guard in February and was charged with suspicion of aggravated assault. He could face more time as a result and his probation could be revoked.
