Morello's Street Sweeper Social Club Album In June

Street Sweeper Social Club, Tom Morello's new musical project with The Coup's Boots Riley, will release their self-titled debut on June 16 through Warner Music's Independent Label Group.

The 11-track album was produced by Morello, who plays guitars and bass, while Riley raps and Galactic's Stanton Moore drums. You can hear first single "100 Little Curses" and three other album tracks on Street Sweeper Social Club's MySpace page.

"It's revolutionary party jams," Morello says of the album. "It's got huge steamroller riffs combined with depth, charge, funk, while Boots unloads clip after clip of incendiary rhymes rich with satire and venom."

Riley adds: "This is a time when the working class is being fleeced left and right. More families will be homeless and more people will be jobless. They'll need something to listen to on their iPods while storming Wall Street."

The seeds for Street Sweeper Social Club were sown when Riley occasionally joined Morello on stage when the former Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist was touring as The Nightwatchman last year.

Street Sweeper Social Club will open for Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction on their NIN|JA summer tour. You can see them here:
