Sarah Slean's Recession-ista Tour

Two-time Juno and Gemini Award-nominated Sarah Slean will play nine Canadian dates for her Recession-ista tour in May and June.

The multi-talented singer, musician, producer, actress, visual artist, University Of Toronto student and party girl has built a dedicated fan base through her two independent and six Warner releases. Her most recent record is The Baroness Redecorates, which features seven B-sides from last year's The Baroness.

Pre-sale tickets for the Recession-ista tour went on sale on Slean's website today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. They'll be available on Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

Slean will wear a new dress made entirely of second-hand garments, which she'll create with local designers and seamstresses, each night. Each gown will be auctioned off on eBay at the end of the tour, with all proceeds going to the David Suzuki Foundation.

Slean is also part of the June 10 Neil Young tribute at Toronto's Massey Hall along with Holly Cole, Jason Collett, Cowboy Junkies, Bill Frisell Trio, Issa (formerly Jane Siberry), Stevie Jackson, Colin Linden, Harry Manx, Danny Michel, Carole Pope, Roxanne Potvin, Steven Page and music director Kevin Breit.
