Hardcore band Everytime I Die, Canadian punks Cancer Bats and The Flatliners, Gene Simmons favourites Down With Webster, Magneta Lane and CHARTattack guest interviewers The Midway State are the first bands to be confirmed for the June 28 S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival.
The annual St. Catharines, Ont. fest began in 1995 and now hosts about 160 acts. It attracted more than 6,000 music fans to 16 stages at 12 venues throughout the downtown core last year.
A marketplace will be set up in the Market Square pavilion for record labels, bands, local artisans and various vendors to sell their goods. The seventh annual CD/mixtape exchange will allow attendees to trade mixtapes and CDs with each other.
Advance tickets for the all-ages event cost $25 and will be available as of May 9 through Ticketmaster and the stores listed in the Tickets section of the S.C.E.N.E. website. They'll be available the day of the event at the Market Square doors for $30.
