Rihanna Wants Jewellery Back

Rihanna wants Los Angeles police to return $1.4 million U.S. (about $1.7 million Canadian) worth of jewellery she says she was wearing on the night she was allegedly beaten by former boyfriend Chris Brown.
Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, has filed a motion asking the Los Angeles Police Department and prosecutors to return three rings and a pair of earrings.
Police seized the jewellery as evidence following the Feb. 8 event, which led to Brown being hit with felony charges of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats. Brown has pleaded not guilty.
"Apparently, initially, the police felt that it would be needed as evidence," Etra told BBC News. "Now the belief is that photographs would be more than sufficient.
"That being the case, we're asking the District Attorney to return the pieces."
Etra's motion states Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, and the LAPD detective in charge of the case don't object to the jewellery being returned to Rihanna (real name Robyn Fenty), and have said photographs of the items can be used if the case goes to trial.
The Associated Press reports all the items are made of "yellow metal" and three of them include "white stones." The motion states that the jewellery was loaned to Rihanna by four companies that want the items returned for events overseas.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Rihanna and Brown have reconciled yet again. The newspaper says the two are "quietly living together." It quotes an unnamed source close to Rihanna's family saying Brown hasn't "officially" moved in with Rihanna, but has been spending a few nights with her.
"Unfortunately, Rihanna still wants him and has told all of us to 'get over yourselves... I'm with him, so deal with it,'" the source said.
Rihanna and Brown allegedly reconciled shortly after the Feb. 8 incident, but were said to be "taking a break" last month. Brown was recently rumoured to be dating Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia and has also been linked to his ex-girlfriend, Erica Jackson, according to Spin.com.
Brown is accused of punching, biting, choking and threatening to kill Rihanna in an incident that's said to have occurred in his rented Lamborghini in the early hours of Feb. 8. He's due back in court on Wednesday.
Etra previously said Rihanna would prefer "if [the case] were over quickly," but the singer would testify if she was subpoeaned. TMZ earlier reported Geragos was seeking a plea deal and was close to achieving one. Brown faces up to five years in prison if he's found guilty of the charges.
Rihanna will make a comeback appearance on May 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
