Ron Sexsmith Documentary In The Works

Toronto singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith is the subject of a documentary titled Talking With The Sun that's in development.

"Talking With The Sun is the first definitive film about Ron Sexsmith," says an outline on the website of FeltFilm, the documentary's producer. "Five years in the making the film captures Sexsmith's gift for song making, journeying into the artist's private spaces and eventually returns to the site that was the birth of the song for Sexsmith.

"From his adolescent search for spiritual and musical deliverance, through the formative years of loneliness and reckoning, the story follows Sexsmith through the culmination of his childhood dream — to open at Toronto's historic Massey Hall" — which Sexsmith did in April 2006 with support by Kathleen Edwards.

Sexsmith released his 11th album, Exit Strategy Of The Soul, last year.

The award-winning artist will play the final two shows of an intimate four-night stand at Halifax's The Carleton Restaurant tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow. He'll open for Nick Lowe in the U.K. in May.
