Oasis' Noel Gallagher and comedian/actor Russell Brand left a phone message for U.S. President Barack Obama on Brand's new TalkSport radio show on Sunday night.
The pre-recorded U.K.-based show featured Brand calling Obama to see if he was a fan of his favourite British soccer team, West Ham United.
"Dear Barack Obama, we are calling you to find out if you are, in fact, the world's most famous West Ham supporter," he said in the message.
"I haven't ever seen you at Upton Park. What formation do you suggest [West Ham manager] Gianfranco Zola plays?"
Gallagher, who's apparently been pondering moving to the U.S. but is afraid of his kids growing up with American accents, hoped the call to Obama wouldn't hurt his chances of living in the country — or Oasis touring there.
"This answerphone message better not jeopardize my American visa situation," he said after the call.
Brand resigned from his BBC Radio 2 program in October after he and co-host Jonathan Ross were criticized by the public and media for leaving rude messages on air for actor Andrew Sachs (who played Manuel on the classic '70s British comedy Fawlty Towers). The messages included lines about Brand having sex with Sachs' granddaughter.
