New Arcade Fire Coming?

Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire could start work on their third album after taking a year off.

Frontman Win Butler didn't offer much in an interview with the Montreal Gazette newspaper, but said the band are ready to "get to work on the next project."

"I don't want to talk about it, but we feel really creative right now," he said. "We're in a really good space as a band.

"This last year was the first break we've had in five years. Everyone feels really rejuvenated and excited. I'm happy to play music."

Butler also spoke to the newspaper about the band's recently released Miroir Noir documentary. He said they didn't want to make a typical band documentary since they aren't fans of that style.

"That whole idea is true to the very origins of the band. We played a lot [of small shows] in the early days. I remember playing Brantford to 10 kids... and you feel like you're going to throw up when you're done... We're constantly trying to find ways to find that original spark of why we started doing it in the first place."

Arcade Fire's "Wake Up" will be used in director Spike Jonze's film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are that will be released to theatres on Oct. 16.

Although Arcade Fire previously denied they were involved with the new Richard Kelly film, The Box, Kelly recently wrote a MySpace blog entry that stated Butler, his wife and bandmate Regine Chassagne and Final Fantasy's Owen Pallett had "recorded more than 80 minutes of score for the film."
