Kanye West's Arraignment Delayed

Kanye West

Kanye West won't be arraigned on misdemeanor charges until May 20.

West was to be arraigned today (Tuesday), but he and road manager Don Crowley have been allowed to delay their pleas until next month following a hearing on Monday afternoon.

West was charged with misdemeanor vandalism, grand theft and battery stemming from an incident last year in which he allegedly broke a TMZ photographer's camera on the floor of Los Angeles International Airport. Crowley was charged with two counts of vandalism, two counts of grand theft and two counts of battery.

West's lawyer, Blair Beck, told the court that Monday was the first day she'd seen police reports from the incident and is still waiting for the prosecution to turn over additional evidence. West didn't have to be at Monday's hearing. He and Crowley are free without bond until their next court date because they don't have criminal records and they said they'd appear at their arraignments.

West could face up to two years and six months in jail if convicted. Crowley could get up to five years if found guilty.

West would also like you to know that last week's South Park episode didn't make him check his ego, as had been previously reported. He says he's been working on his ego much longer.

"THE SOUTH PARK EPISODE DID NOT MAKE ME HAVE THIS EGO EPIPHANY!" West wrote on Friday. "I ACTUALLY ONLY WATCHED A PIECE OF THE EPISODE WHICH WAS FUNNY. I'VE BEEN WORKING ON MYSELF FOR A WHILE NOW, WHICH IS HARD TO DO IN THE PUBLIC EYE. I JUST USED THIS AS A PLATFORM TO EXPRESS WHERE MY HEAD IS AT."

West isn't the only person who found the South Park episode "FUNNY," though. He wrote this on his blog on Saturday:

"I WAS AT CHEESECAKE FACTORY YESTERDAY AND THE MANAGER BROUGHT ME A PLATE OF FISH STICKS... (in a sarcastic tone) uuuuuuum, GREAT! : /"

West might like to know for future reference that fish sticks are delicious mashed up in a roll with Worcestershire sauce and lettuce.
