Decemberists On Tour And Colbert Report

The Decemberists have added dates to their A Short Fazed Hovel tour, including shows in Vancouver and Toronto, and will appear again on television's The Colbert Report on April 27.

Stephen Colbert took on Decemberists guitarist Chris Funk in an on-air shred-off in 2006 after Colbert accused the Portland, Ore. group of stealing his idea for a "green screen challenge." Colbert suffered a suspect hand injury and was replaced in the shred-off by Peter Frampton, who defeated Funk.

There's no word yet on what The Decemberists might do on their forthcoming Colbert Report appearance, but they're promising to perform their entire new The Hazards Of Love album followed by a second set of older material on their upcoming tour. Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden will accompany the band for their dates, which begin May 19.

A limited number of pre-sale tickets can be purchased here. Tickets for the second leg of the tour go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
