Amy Winehouse's record company isn't pleased with all the monkeying around she's been doing in St. Lucia.
Winehouse, who's supposed to be
working on the follow-up to 2007's
Back To Black with producer Salaam Remi (Fugees) on the Caribbean island, has instead agreed to work with
Gorillaz.
"[Her label] were not happy to say the least," a source told the U.K.'s
Daily Mail tabloid. "They want Amy to get cracking on her new album, but the results have so far not been up to scratch.
"Imagine how they felt when they realised she had agreed to work with Gorillaz? They couldn't believe it.
"It's an unnecessary distraction.
"They think she should invest all her energy in her own music. She should be knuckling down and delivering the goods."
But maybe Winehouse has been working on her own Island Records album. She's reported to have written a song called "The Ultimate Betrayal" after she heard that her estranged husband,
Blake Fielder-Civil, had impregnated a woman while in rehab.
"Amy still felt they had something between them and that one day they'd be together again," a source told the U.K.'s
The Sun tabloid.
"She sat down with her guitar and started writing 'The Ultimate Betrayal'... She keeps repeating the line: 'Blake a baby, no, no, no.' It's very haunting."
Gillian Morris, who already has two children and met Fielder-Civil while she was undergoing treatment for heroin addiction, told the U.K.'s
News Of The World tabloid that Fielder-Civil got her pregnant and has told her that he'll help raise the baby.
"Initially I was planning to have an abortion but Blake's vow has completely thrown me," Morris told the publication.
"I never planned for anymore children. Our fling was just a bit of fun. I never imagined these consequences.
"I'm now confused and don't know what to do."
Fielder-Civil began
divorce proceedings against Winehouse earlier this year after it was reported she'd been having an affair while on vacation in St. Lucia.
Morris said she wants Winehouse to be involved in raising the child.
"I was surprised how supportive [Fielder-Civil] was," Morris told
News Of The World.
"I don't think he'd say he'll stand by me if he didn't mean it.
"And if Amy wants to be a stepmum I wouldn't mind, as long as she steered clear of drugs and self-harming.
"It's also lovely that Blake's mum wants to go with me to the hospital.
"It's a nice gesture, but it will be nerve-racking meeting her for the first time, let alone explaining how this happened."
Winehouse's mother recently told
The Sun that her daughter returned to St. Lucia not just to record, but to get far, far away from Fielder-Civil.
"He doesn't have her number out there," Janis Winehouse said. "When Amy was back she was in touch with Blake but personally, as her mother, I find him very controlling and manipulating."
Janis Winehouse added that she believed her daughter was realizing it "isn't worth it" for her to be married to Fielder-Civil.
"She's getting cleaned up, which says a lot, and she's really put her mind to getting her life back together. So I'd be devastated if she got back with him.
"She doesn't need Blake in her life. She is getting used to the fact that he's not good for her."
