Iron And Wine Rarities And Live Discs Coming

Iron And Wine will release a double-disc rarities album titled Around The Well on May 19 through Sub Pop.

The 23-track compilation features songs recorded by Sam Beam from 2002 to 2007. The first disc features some of his unedited home recordings and the second CD includes tracks he recorded in the studio.

The collection features covers of The Flaming Lips' "Waitin' For A Superman," New Order's "Love Vigilantes" and The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights," which originally appeared on the Garden State soundtrack in 2004.

Beam will also release a live album titled Norfolk 6/20/05 on April 18 for Record Store Day.

The 18-track disc was recorded at a 2005 show in Norfolk, Va. and features Beam's full touring band at the time. It will only be available at participating record stores and won't be for sale through Iron And Wine's website or the Sub Pop store.

Beam released his The Creek Drank The Cradle debut album as Iron And Wine in 2002. He's released two other LPs since, and his most recent is 2007's The Shepherd's Dog. Beam is working on its follow-up.

Beam will tour throughout May. Fans had the chance to vote on Iron And Wine's website for the songs that they wan to hear at 10 intimate shows in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. You can see Iron And Wine here:
