Stars Unite To Sing With Bruno

We're pretty sure this isn't an elaborate April Fool's prank. And even if it is, it has more than us fooled.
Borat and Ali G creator Sasha Baron Cohen apparently wrangled Bono and Chris Martin to collaborate on a song titled "Dove Of Peace" for his forthcoming movie Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose Of Making Heterosexual Male that will premiere in July.
The two superstar singers and social activists put whatever differences they might have had behind them when they entered London, England's Abbey Road Studios to lay down their parts.
"Sasha's character releases a brilliantly cheesy but subversive single, 'Dove Of Peace,' which mocks the likes of Band Aid," an unnamed source apparently close to the film told U.K. newspaper Daily Mirror. "It runs close to the bone but it's all very tongue-in-cheek."
An example of the song's cheekiness can be found in this sample lyric: "For people of Africa who live in hell/They will never wear Chanel."
"Chris Martin was in stitches throughout the recording and only just managed to get his lines out," the source told the Mirror.
Baron Cohen (or Bruno, the gay Austrian fashion television reporter he portrays in the film) has also convinced Sting, Elton John and The Village People to contribute to the song. Snoop Dogg's name has also been mentioned and Madonna is said to be close to signing on.
"Madonna worked with him for her cover of 'American Pie' and he's approached her to get involved," the insider told the tabloid. "It'll be quite a coup if he does.
"If the film's a success, there's every chance the song will be released as a single."
Baron Cohen has been forced to edit several sex scenes in Bruno after The Motion Picture Association Of America gave it an NC-17 rating that wouldn't allow anyone under 17 to see it in a theatre. The deleted scenes will likely be saved for the film's DVD release.
Baron Cohen showed clips from Bruno at last month's South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas and claimed he hopes the character becomes "the biggest Austrian celebrity since Hitler."
