Mastodon Love Acid

It probably shouldn't surprise anyone that Mastodon are big fans of acid.

Guitarist/singer Brent Hinds told Rolling Stone magazine that the band's song ideas come from "doing too much" acid.

"Acid is the best drug in the world. It did the most amazing things for my creative psyche, and it still is doing things for me."

Drummer/singer Brann Dailor agreed with Hinds and, according to Rolling Stone, did acid throughout most of his adolescence.

"Droppers filled with liquid acid on my tongue and just going for it, fully exiting what I consider to be an earthly plane.

"And when the acid wore off, I had a connection with that kind of music, with Frank Zappa and Yes and King Crimson."

Mastodon's latest psychedelic metal opus is the recently released Crack The Skye. Hinds, Dailor, guitarist Bill Kelliher and bassist Troy Sanders are touring in support of its release, and you can see them here:
